Pre-Employment Project Batch II
Pre-Employment Project Batch II
The Siem Reap Tourism Club launched a pre-employment program, Batch I, for 300 students in 2023 to help young Cambodians gain employment in the tourism industry. The program provides training and support in areas such as food and beverage service, housekeeping, and front office skills, and offers work experience through internships and placements. Students undergo a six-month program, after which they receive a job that supports their community.
Building on the success of Batch I, which trained 300 students, the Pre-Employment Batch II for 200 students in four skills—housekeeping, front office, food and beverage service, and cooking—will be implemented in 2024 for the duration of 8 months. The goal is to significantly increase the number of workers in the tourism sector, focusing on rank-and-file positions. This initiative addresses the ongoing labor shortage in the industry, worsened by many individuals leaving during the COVID-19 pandemic. By expanding the workforce, the project aims to revitalize the tourism sector and meet growing demands.
